May, 30 the staff of the Historical and cultural center participated in the regional scientific-practical Conference Truth of a History: the Events and Destiny dedicated to memory day of victims of political repression and hunger. The Conference was held on the basis of the Museum in memory of the victims of political repressions in Dolinka.
The event began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Mamotchkino cemetery. Meeting-Requiem was held with the participation of akim of Karaganda region Yerlan Koshanov, representatives of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan, the clergy of different denominations, the descendants of the repressed.
“This place is not just a cemetery, not just pure field. Here lie the children – the innocent victims of great terror. And we, and future generations must preserve the memory about this so as not to repeat itself a monstrous mistake. We should cherish peace and harmony in our country,” said E. Koshanov.
The Conference was opened by the head of the culture, archives and documentation Department of the Karaganda region E. Agimbayev. He noted the importance of such activities to preserve the memory of the victims of Stalinist repression.
Speakers presentations of leading academic high schools in Karaganda shared their experience scientific-research activities related to political repression 1930-1950. Based on the results of the Conference will be published a collection of reports.
